Visiting information scientist and researcher Sebastian Karcher from Syracuse University will lead a hands-on workshop on two authoring practices of interest to researchers:

• Sustainable Authorship with Markdown and Pandoc
• Using Markdown and git hub to author for web and print

Participants will gain hands-on experience creating their publications lists in Markdown, converting the list to multiple formats for publication and the web; and then sharing their published outputs openly on their own website hosted on GitHub. A laptop (PC, Apple or Linux) is required to take part in the hands-on portions of the workshop
