The Caltech Library and the Graduate Studies Office invite graduate students who are writing their dissertations this Fall to join us for a 2-day in-person Dissertation Writing Bootcamp on November 9-10, 2026 in the Sherman Fairchild Library on the third floor. We have seats for 25 students. Accepted students are expected to attend full-time both days.

The Bootcamp provides a a calm, distraction-free environment for writing your dissertation. In-person help is available over the two days and includes optional consultations with the Hixon Writing Center and Caltech Librarians to help students address writing, formatting, copyright and data management questions in particular.  We also provide breakfast, lunch, and other refreshments.. Signup sheets for individual assistance will be available starting at breakfast of Day 1.

Registration ends Thursday, October 15, 2026 at noon PST.

Note: When registering, you must certify that if selected you will be able to attend the Dissertation Bootcamp on both November 9th (8:30 am-4:30 pm) and November 10th (8:30 am-4:30 pm). Please understand the Library will contact your advisor to confirm your availability.
