StoryMaps, by ArcGIS, is an authoring web-based application that allows you to share your maps and content through the use of narrative text and other multimedia content. Stories are visually and dynamically interactive and can include maps, narrative text, lists, images, video/sound and much more. So if you have an idea or a story you'd like to make dynamically interactive, come to this workshop. In this workshop, we'll demonstrate how to access the platform, give some examples, as well as a live demonstration of creating a StoryMap from scratch.

Participants will be given an opportunity to enter the 2025 Campus StoryMap Competition titled "Discovering Caltech: Showcasing Our Campus Through GIS." For more information, please visit: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/554369768972485e9b2ab0ffe1a5b8fe

This workshop will be co-hosted by Katie Chiu, space information manager in Facilities.

NOTE: This workshop is also open to non-members of the Caltech community. If you are not affiliated with Caltech, you will need to create a free ArcGIS Public Account in order to use ArcGIS StoryMaps. Members of the Caltech community can sign-in using the Caltech ArcGIS account.
