What & Who: In partnership with the Caltech Postdoc Association (CPA), Caltech Library is offering a half day, hands-on workshop on using the shell to manage and automate analysis on your computer.  We'll cover navigating on the command line, managing files and directories, and writing shell scripts.  This workshop does not require any prior experience working on the command line.  This workshop is based on a Software Carpentry lesson, but has been customized as a stand-alone unit.

When: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday November 13, 2018.

Where: Milikan 9th Floor (MIL 9), Caltech campus

Registration: This event is only open to Caltech Postdoctoral Researchers.  Please register using the link below. Since spaces are limited (30 spaces) and we expect the workshop to be oversubscribed, please only register if you are sure that you can attend. Once the workshop is fully subscribed, we will send an email to all registered participants to ask you to confirm your attendance. If you do not do so within 48 hours, your registration will be cancelled in order to allow people on the waiting list to attend, so please make sure to check your emails.

For more information: For questions about registration/attendance, contact Maria Ninova (ninova@caltech.edu), Caltech Postdoc Association. For questions about the workshop, contact the Library (library@caltech.edu).
