What & Who: In partnership with the Caltech Postdoc Association (CPA), Caltech Library is offering a half day, hands-on workshop on automated version control using git.  We'll cover managing a git repository on your local machine, working with collaborators, and using GitHub to share and manage code contributions from others.  You don't need to have experience with git, but should have experience working on the unix command line such as taking our shell workshop.  This workshop is based on a Software Carpentry lesson, but has been customized as a stand-alone unit.

When: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday November 14, 2018.

Where: Milikan 9th Floor (MIL 9), Caltech campus

Registration: This event is only open to Caltech Postdoctoral Researchers.  Please register using the link below. Since spaces are limited (30 spaces) and we expect the workshop to be oversubscribed, please only register if you are sure that you can attend. Once the workshop is fully subscribed, we will send an email to all registered participants to ask you to confirm your attendance. If you do not do so within 48 hours, your registration will be cancelled in order to allow people on the waiting list to attend, so please make sure to check your emails.

For more information: For questions about registration/attendance, contact Maria Ninova (ninova@caltech.edu), Caltech Postdoc Association. For questions about the workshop, contact the Library (library@caltech.edu).
