What & Who: In partnership with the Caltech Postdoc Association (CPA), Caltech Library is offering a hands-on workshop on automated version control using git. This class is a continuation of Introduction to Git, Part 1. We'll cover managing a git repository on your local machine and using git to work with collaborators.  You don't need to have experience with git, but should have experience working on the unix command line such as taking our introductory shell workshop.  This workshop is based on a Software Carpentry lesson, but has been customized as a stand-alone unit.

Schedule:
9:30-10:00am: Setup, discussion, troubleshooting (as needed, optional)
10:00-11:30am: Instruction. (Approximately 20-30 mins at end for optional review, discussion, troubleshooting)

Registration: This event is only open to Caltech Postdoctoral Researchers.  Please register using the link below. Since spaces are limited (30 spaces) and we expect the workshop to be oversubscribed, please only register if you are sure that you can attend. Once the workshop is fully subscribed, we will send an email to all registered participants to ask you to confirm your attendance. If you do not do so within 48 hours, your registration will be cancelled in order to allow people on the waiting list to attend, so please make sure to check your emails.

For more information: For questions about registration/attendance, contact Domink Schildknecht (dominks@caltech.edu), Caltech Postdoc Association. For questions about the workshop, contact the Library (library@caltech.edu).
