What & Who: Caltech Library is offering a two-day, hands-on workshop on using the shell to manage and automate analysis on your computer.  This advanced workshop assumes skills taught in the Library's Introduction to Shell workshop. The curriculum is based on a Software Carpentry lesson, but has been customized as a stand-alone unit. Topics covered will include shell scripts, searching across files, utilities for working remotely, advanced bash scripts (with HPC), shell variables, and permissions.

When: Monday January 24 and Wednesday January 26, 2022.

Where: Online via Zoom

Schedule:
9:45-10:00am: Setup, discussion, troubleshooting (as needed, optional)
10:00-11:15am: Instruction (approximately 15 mins at end for optional review, discussion, troubleshooting)
